Herbal medicine

Herbal medicine treats and prevents illnesses with plants, their parts, and plant-based preparations. The plants used  contain numerous substances such as saponins, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, essential oils, bitter substances, mucilage, mustard oil glycosides, and salicylate. The substances specific medicinal effect determines how medicinal plants are used in physiotherapy. Herbal medicine is particularly suitable for guiding metabolic processes, detoxification and purification.

Plant preparations based on Western and Chinese herbal medicine can treat the following:

  • Respiratory tract
  • Digestive organs
  • Weakened immune system/ susceptibility to infections
  • Cardiovascular system
  • Kidneys
  • Efferent urinary tract and prostate
  • Skin
  • Allergies
  • Nervous system disorders
  • Psyche

Unlike homeopathy, herbal therapy uses a whole plant or its parts, as well as dried extracts, tinctures, press juices, and essential oil. Herbs are an excellent accompaniment to other naturopathic treatments. Herbal treatments should be combined with kinesiology treatment as a diagnostic procedure. Herbal medicine is also suitable for the treatment of children, as it is easily tolerated. At my clinic, I use both the medicinal plants employed in traditional Western herbal medicine and Chinese herbs.
