Orthopaedics

Holistic orthopaedics treat musculoskeletal system disorders locally, as well as taking into account the skeleton’s entire static episodes, tissue condition (muscles, tendons, ligaments) and the body’s metabolic condition. Many orthopaedic disorders are accompanied by a change in the musculoskeletal system’s mobility and staticity. Corporeal and spiritual wellbeing depend very much on the musculoskeletal system and spinal functions. Even minimal spinal malpositions can produce various symptoms.

In orthopaedic medicine, back pain and ischialgia are mainly linked to the spine. But the spine can also be the cause of hip, knee and shoulder pains, which are not normally regarded as orthopaedic disorders

Skullcap syndrome can also cause numerous disorders. Changes cause the skullcap to be pulled downwards and squeeze the nerve control points. This can also result in apoplexy (apoplectic stroke), Parkinson’s, and possibly Alzheimer’s disease. Problems such as leg length difference, hip misalignment and spinal malposition can be corrected with osteopathic  treatment.

The targeted manipulation of the pelvis and spine not only eases pain, but also improves neural control of the body. Changes in the musculoskeletal system can also be the result of restricted tissue functionality, and so the treatment should be combined with tissue therapy. Musculoskeletal system pain can also be reduced with acupuncture treatment.

As well as responding well to Chinese medicine’s manual treatment and techniques, orthopaedic disorders can also be influenced by diet. The impact of nutrition and the metabolism on the musculoskeletal system is often underestimated.

The following orthopaedic disorders are frequently treated at naturopathic clinics
