Augmented acupuncture

Augmented acupuncture according to Dr. Kovic - immediate relief from hay fever

Spring is here – and with it the peak season for pollen. Millions of people in Germany and around the world are already experiencing the typical symptoms: itchy eyes, a blocked nose, sneezing, and shortness of breath. Hay fever is one of the most common allergic diseases, triggered by contact with pollen from trees, grasses, and herbs. But while many sufferers rely on antihistamines or cortisone preparations, interest in alternative therapies is growing. One of these is the disassembled Acupuncture according to Dr. Kovic

Typical symptoms and challenges

The most common complaints include:

  • Sneezing and stuffy nose
  • Watery, itchy or red eyes
  • Cough, shortness of breath or allergic asthma
  • Lack of concentration, fatigue
  •

Many patients also suffer from a reduced quality of life – sleep problems, reduced performance and psychological stress are not uncommon.

Augmented acupuncture according to Kovic: What is it?

Augmented acupuncture is a modern development of classical Acupuncture. Traditional needle stimuli are supplemented (“augmented”) with additional stimuli such as electrical impulses, lasers, or microcurrents. The aim is to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment and achieve deeper regulation in the nervous system and Immune system .

Especially in cases of allergies such as hay fever, this method can help to reduce the overactive Immune system to calm and regulate inflammatory reactions.

How does augmented acupuncture work for allergies?

  • Diagnosis: First, a short medical history is taken

  • Treatment: Two points next to the 2th cervical vertebrae are measured over the skin resistance in order to inject some procaine (local anesthetic) under the skin. Then two acupuncture needles are placed at these acupuncture points.

  • Increase: The needles are stimulated with a weak current while the patient holds an electrode in his hand.

  • Objective: The immune system's overreaction is dampened, histamine levels can be lowered, and cortisol levels can be increased. This calms the mucous membranes and balances the body's overall response.

How effective is augmented acupuncture?

Studies and reports show that many patients experience significant relief of symptoms after just one session – without any drug-related side effects.

If the therapy does not show a significant effect in the first session, no better results can be expected even with repeated sessions. A systematic treatment in the context of Chinese medicine should be undertaken.

Who is this method suitable for?

Augmented acupuncture is particularly suitable for:

  • People with seasonal allergies (hay fever)
  • Patients who do not tolerate medication well
  • Allergy sufferers with chronic complaints or asthma
  • People who prefer gentle, holistic therapy
