Dietary advice

Nutrition can play a significant role in influencing most illnesses. Although a poor diet is often not the sole cause of health problems, virtually all disorders can be positively influenced by individually tailored nutrition. Our intestine plays a central role in the smooth functioning of our body’s different ‘systems’. The intestine contains a large part of our immune system and must decide on a daily basis what goes into our bodies, and what needs to be expelled. The immune system is weakened by a digestive tract overgrowth, which leads to an immune deficiency and a susceptibility to infections and fungal infection. At the same time excessive fungal growth (e.g. Candida albicans) in the intestine frequently leads to increased permeability of the intestinal mucosa (leaky gut syndrome),with insufficient split protein reaching the intestine, triggering allergic overreactions.

Food allergies often lead to digestive disorders, inflammatory skin disorders, rheumatic complaints and chronic fatigue.

Modern dietary advice is free of dogmatic notions and is individually adapted to the patient.
The first step is a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s nutritional and disorder anamnesis (history). Then if necessary, blood and stool tests are taken, in order to distinguish between food intolerance, allergic reactions and nutrition related disorders.

As well as identifying food intolerances such as lactose intolerance (milk sugar), fructose intolerance (fruit sugar), histamine intolerance and purine intolerance (gout), allergy diagnosis also plays a central role in recognising IgG-mediated Type III allergies (late-type allergies) and IgE-mediated Type I allergies (immediate type allergies). The nickel in food and water often also triggers allergies, as do the various additives (pseudo allergies) used in the largely conventional food industry. The prick tests employed by many allergologists and dermatologists are unsuitable for the differentiated diagnosis of food allergies.

Due to the complexity of the problems, a comprehensive consultation needs to be carried out before each examination! Many of the latest laboratory diagnostic testing methods are not included in public health insurance companies’ range of services.

There should also be a sufficient supply of vitamins, mineral (salts) and trace elements, as well as the correct balance of carbohydrates, protein and good fats.
The body’s acid base balance plays an important role here.
Acid base imbalances within orthopaedic disorders cause muscle pain and tissue and joint inflammation, and the impaired cell metabolism aids joint blockages, as well as other complaints. In addition to the modern medical aspects of dietary advice, it can be very helpful to use traditional Chinese medicine’s facial points (five element nutrition) to monitor nutrition.
Most people try to eat a healthy and balanced diet.
Nonetheless, ignorance, misleading advertising and the low quality of the food industry, as well as unrecognised allergies and intolerances can result in seriously poor nutrition. This not only aids or results in the onset of numerous health disorders but also has a negative impact on performance and personal wellbeing.
